Meal Prepping

Its Tuesday evening and you are running late home from work, kids are hungry, you are hungry and now what? Pick up dinner on the way home? Order dinner? Make dinner? How do I pick healthy options and stay with my goals?

Oh My! What to do!?!?!?!

Spending a few hours Pre-Preparing food a week can help.

Here are some suggestions on how to make Meal Prepping Easier:

Make A Plan: Pick a day that works best for you and your schedule. Decide who you will be meal prepping for. Know how long your meals will stay “good” in the refrigerator. Decide if you want to make meals that could be kept in the freezer. Know how many storage containers will be needed and what type of containers.

Make A List: Now that you have a plan, the next step is the grocery store. Knowing what you want on your menu during the week will help with creating a grocery list. Calculate how many breakfast, lunch and dinner meals you want to have pre prepared for the week. Find or create a meal plan that works for you and your activities.

Make Extra: Cooking larger portions of meals will create time savors on the others meals for the week. Leftovers from dinner could be utilized for a lunch another day. Picking foods that could be created into more than one meal will help in time saving.

Make It Easy: This is a great reason to pick up that Instapot you have had your eye on for months. Use the oven or a slow cooker to cook some of the meal as a time saver. Food can be cooked with a designated amount of time and monitored when needed.

Make An Order: Don’t know how to cook or you just don’t have the desire to cook, then maybe having someone else do the work for you would be an option. There are several local and online companies that will send you pre-made food that is healthy. The best way to find out which one is best for you would be taking advantage of the discounted trials that are offered for new customers. Just Google It.
